General Airsoft Questions

With proper protective gear, airsoft is safe for most ages. Generally, the minimum recommended age is around 12-14, but this can vary. Younger players should have adult supervision and use lower-powered guns.

Basic equipment includes an airsoft gun, eye and face protection (like goggles and masks), and BBs. Additional protective gear, such as gloves, body armor, and knee pads, can be helpful.

In most countries, airsoft guns are legal without a license and the minimum age requirement to buy a gun is 18 years old, but they are also subject to regulations like power restrictions. Check local laws for specific requirements.

Airsoft BBs are usually made from plastic, though biodegradable options are also available. Biodegradable BBs are recommended for outdoor use to minimize environmental impact.

Airsoft gun power is measured in FPS (feet per second). While hits may sting and cause minor bruising, they’re generally not painful if proper protection is worn.

Wear durable, layered clothing like long-sleeved shirts, pants, and boots. Many players prefer camouflage or tactical gear for protection and to blend in with surroundings. Don't forget to protect your head as well, wear a hoodie or a cap.

The minimum age varies by country and field, but it's typically around 12-14. Some fields may have specific age limits or restrictions for certain types of games.

You should always remove the battery from your gun immediately after each session and charge it. Store the gun in a case or a clean, dry place, with the battery removed and always plug in the battery as soon as the game starts.

Technical Questions

AEGs, powered by rechargeable batteries, are known for reliability, consistency, and minimal maintenance needs. They perform well in all temperatures, making them ideal for continuous play. Common battery types include NiMH and LiPo, with regular cleaning and occasional gearbox lubrication as main upkeep.

Gas-powered guns use CO2 or green gas, offering a realistic experience with blowback and generally higher FPS, making them popular for realism and precision. However, they’re more sensitive to temperature (cold can reduce power) and require regular maintenance, like lubricating O-rings and checking for leaks. AEGs are often better for beginners, while gas guns appeal to advanced players seeking realism.

Misfeeding or jamming can be due to low-quality BBs, a dirty magazine, or issues with the hop-up. Using high-quality BBs and cleaning the magazine and barrel regularly can help prevent this problem.

For electric guns, ensure the battery is fully charged and connections are secure. In gas-powered guns, check for leaks in the magazine or valves and apply silicone oil to maintain the seals.

Inconsistent accuracy or range may result from a dirty barrel, low-quality BBs, or a misaligned hop-up. Cleaning the barrel and adjusting the hop-up can improve consistency.

A drop in FPS can indicate issues with the spring, air seal, or gas pressure. In electric guns, check the gearbox for wear; in gas guns, ensure the gas is properly filled and that seals are intact.

A malfunctioning hop-up can affect accuracy and range. If the hop-up is damaged, misaligned, or worn out, you may need to adjust or replace it to restore performance.

Air leaks in gas guns are often due to worn O-rings or damaged seals. Regularly inspect O-rings, apply silicone oil, and replace any worn parts to maintain a proper seal.

Motors in electric guns can overheat if they’re overworked or lack ventilation. Consider improving airflow in the gun’s body or replacing the motor with a higher-quality version if overheating is frequent.

Parts such as the stock, barrel, or grip can loosen over time. Regularly check for loose screws or components, and tighten them to ensure stable performance and prevent damage.
